How to Join Club Penguin

Club Penguin is an online world that offers cartoon Penguins for avatars rather than human forms. The Penguins then waddle around and talk to one another, play minigames and participate in a wide range of activities that are available in the snow covered virtual world. And just like other virtual world games you have to sign up for an account in order to play. And like other virtual worlds when you create an account you actually have two options.

Step one:

The first thing that you are going to need to do is to go to the Club Penguin website. This can be found here.

Step two:

Once you get to the website you are going to have to choose which option you want. Your two choices are create a membership or play now.

Step three:

If you choose the play now button you will be taken to another page where you are given the option of logging in or creating a free account. Since this would be the first time you played you would want to create a free account.

Step four:

When creating a free account you are going to need to complete eight different steps. The first and second step has to do with the Club Penguin rules and terms and conditions. You have to agree to these rules and terms and conditions in order to continue on with creating your free account.

Step five:

Then you must create your Penguin. You have numerous colored Penguins to choose from; all you have to do is select the color that you want.

Step six:

Once you have created your Penguin you are going to need to name the Penguin. Be sure not to use your real name when naming your Penguin or anything close to your real name for safety purposes.

Step seven:

Once your name has been approved you are going to need to create a password so that you can log into your account. Depending on the age of your child you might be doing this for them.

Step eight:

Next you are going to need to choose which type of chat you are going to allow your child to use. The two choices are Standard Safe-Chat and Ultimate Safe-Chat. A description of each type of chat is included for you to read when making your decision.

Step nine:

Then you must enter in the parents’ email address so that Club Penguin can send them an activation link.

Step ten:

After receiving the email you must activate your Penguin before you can enter Club Penguin to begin playing the game.

Step eleven:

If you choose to pay for an account you are going to need to complete the above steps but you are also going to need to choose a membership payment plan, monthly, every six months, or once a year and submit your payment before you can complete those steps.

Other tips/resources:

•If you choose to create a paid account then you are going to have certain advantages that non-paid members won’t have. Some of those advantages are you can own three or more puffles, enjoy early access to newly released games, buy furniture and many other things that non-members won’t have access too.

•In Club Penguin a free account is considered a non-member account and you are extremely limited as to what you can do in the virtual world. You can still buy colors and player-card backgrounds, you can still play games and you can go anywhere, unless there is a member’s only party going on at the time.

Something else that you need to be aware of is that if you are a non-member you can only have two puffles, you can only buy the colors blue and red, you can not buy furniture or clothes for your Penguins and you can not access the new game area during its first release.
