Facebook is testing a proactive approach to user privacy this week with the introduction of a cartoon blue dinosaur. If you haven’t modified your privacy settings in awhile (meaning you are probably several steps behind current best-practices and therefore as out-of-date as a dinosaur!), your next post may be greeted by the this friendly looking cartoon dinosaur.
What to do now? I recommend following the “Learn More” link to update your privacy settings to default to “Friends Only.” And keep in mind that whenever you modify your distribution setting for even a SINGLE POST, that becomes your new default. With its constant changes, we have to be on our toes to not become privacy dinosaurs!
