Homemade decorations can be more economical and will add sentimental value to your decor. There is so much to choose from in the way of homemade decorations. Some are more elaborate and may take a bit of time, but you can also find simple and easy homemade decoration ideas as well. Both look great and will be something that you can proudly display in your home.
Pine Cone Photo Holder/Place Card Holder
This is an easy homemade decoration project that you may even be able to allow the kids to help with. It can be made with things that you can usually pick up in your own yard or on a nature walk, making it relatively inexpensive! If you can’t find these things in the great out-of-doors where you live, try your local craft store for some of these items.
You will need these items for the project.
•1 medium/large pine cone
•1 piece of brown cardboard (or you can paint it a fun fall color to add more color)
•Photo or place card
•Twigs, acorns or other small natural treasures
•Glue (Tacky glue or hot glue works fine)
Start by finding the right position for your photo or place card. Stick it in the pine cone so that it sticks straight up. Set it on the cardboard base to get the proper placement for the pinecone then arrange your other items around it as desired. Fasten the items to the card board with glue and allow it to dry.
