For an edible craft treat try making this fun looking turkey! Be advised though that while this craft is rated as easy, parental supervision is still needed. Also, as in all recipes, results can vary depending on humidity and other conditions.
You will need:
Microwave
Bag of candy corn (for beak and eyes)
Bag of caramel candy squares (for the body)
Bag of Dove chocolate (for the base/feet)
Bag of striped chocolate cookies (for the tail and feathers)
Thanksgiving cup cake liners
Microwavable plate
Step One
Unwrap a piece of Dove chocolate to use as the base of the turkey. Place on a microwavable plate.
Step Two
Unwrap a piece of caramel and stick on top of the Dove chocolate bar for the turkey’s body.
Step Three
Take a piece of candy corn and push down on top of the caramel leaving the pointed end out. This makes the turkey’s beak.
Step Four
Take another piece of caramel and push down on top of the first caramel. This is the head of the turkey.
Step Five
Break off the little white ends of 2 candy corns and push in the top caramel for the eyes.
Step Six
Take one striped chocolate cookie and apply to the back of the body to form the feathers.
Step Seven
Put the entire turkey in the microwave for a few seconds (about 8 seconds) just so that the candy and cookie can fuse together. Be sure and watch this the entire time as you do not want the turkey to melt, only to fuse together.
Step Eight
Place in freezer for a few minutes to help the turkey “set up” quicker.
Step Nine
Serve in a Thanksgiving cupcake paper.
