Valentine’s Day is a great day to show the love you have for someone by appealing to their appetites, and what appeals to the appetites more than chocolate? Chocolate is a delicious, rich, delightful treat that is sure to win the heart of your Valentine.
To make chocolate fondue, either use a fondue pot, a double boiler, or a pot and a metal bowl. You also need your favorite chocolate, more expensive chocolates, such as Gheridelli work better than the store brand, or imitation chocolates.
If using a fondue pot, keep the temperature even and really low. The lower it is the better your chocolate will be. If you turn the pot up too much, the chocolate will get lumpy or burn. So, be careful about how high you have it.
If using a double broiler you will put water in the bottom, and chocolate in the top, and cook at a medium heat.
If you need to improvise, use a regular sauce pan, fill it with water, and then use a metal bowl to hold your chocolate. Make sure the metal bowl is not touching the water. The water will boil and the steam will melt the chocolate perfectly.
Once you have perfectly melted chocolate you can add things like Marshmallow crème, whip cream, bits of cookie, nuts, caramel, etc. Then, enjoy it with fresh fruits like: strawberries, apples, bananas, and pineapple. Enjoy with cookies and cakes like: bits of cheesecake, oreos, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, graham crackers. Or, anything else that sounds good: brownie bits, marshmallows, pretzels, nuts, and more. This is a romantic way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with chocolate.
