Valentine’s Day is about romance, and you can add romance to the day by doing some crafts that will help. The following are some crafts to help add some romance to your Valentine’s Day.
Homemade candles: You can spice up the romance no matter what you are doing by doing it with candles as your lighting. Making your own candles just adds to the romance. A simple and fun candle idea for Valentine’s Day whether you are eating dinner in, or just taking a bubble bath with your lover is to have a poured candle. So, here is what you need:
Wax
Something to melt the wax in
A wax paper cup
Crushed ice
Wick
What you do:
Put your wick into the paper cup with the metal holder on the bottom. Fill your paper cup with crushed ice, then pour the wax in over top the crushed ice. The wax will melt some of the ice off, and so you can dump the water once the wax starts to harden. Eventually all of the wax will melt, and you will be left with an intricate and delicate candle that is both lovely and fun. You can pour several with different colors of wax and decorate a whole room.
Tile board picture of you and your loved one: This is a fun craft, and can be a very romantic craft for Valentine’s Day as it is memorable and nice. However, this craft takes several days to complete. You need to have at least two hours to dedicate to making it, and a few days to let it dry.
What you need:
A tile board
Modge podge
An enlarged photo, or several small photos
A cutter
Ruler
Epoxy resin
Popsicle sticks
Straws
Paint
Basically to do this you are going to do is paint your tile board sides and creases. Then take your photo and cut it to fit the squares of your tile board. This is a tricky process, and needs to be done carefully, and precisely. Make sure that you measure every square, as they differ. Use the modge podge to attach the photos to the board. Once this is done you are going to mix the epoxy according to the directions on the box. Prop your tile board up so that you do not accidentally glue it to the table. You can use canned food to do this. Pour the epoxy in the center of the tile board, it will naturally spread. Once it is spread, take a straw and blow on it to get rid of the air bubbles. You will need to do this multiple times. As the epoxy starts to set you will need to take your popsicle stick and run it through the gutters in the tile board so that epoxy does not set up in them. Do this and blow air bubbles periodically until the epoxy stops running back into the creases.
Plates of love: This is a fun craft that you can do. What you are going to do is great a plain ceramic plate that has not yet been glazed. You can paint it, put a picture on it, or whatever you want. Put your name, the date you got married, met, a favorite quote or something else romantic. Then you glaze and fire it. Then you have a great homemade plate to eat your romantic dinner off of.
