Finding craft ideas is one thing, finding them specifically tailored for the bible is another. Don’t get discouraged though; there are several different places to look when you want to know where to find bible crafts. Finding bible crafts actually isn’t as hard as you think it is, you just have to know where to look. Here are some tips to get you started in the right place for your search:
Tip #1: Ask family and friends first
Family and friends is the best place to start when you’re beginning a new project. You might be pleasantly surprised when you ask around and realize that more than just your mom has a few different religious craft ideas. If you’re part of a religious group or church, this would be another great place to go for ideas. Family and friends are great because often times they will sell them to you for really cheap, or just let you borrow the patterns they have. Just be careful you don’t lose anything you borrow or you may not be allowed to borrow again.
Tip #2: Take a trip to your local craft store
Most if not all craft stores will carry some sort of religious craft or bible craft that you can use. The nice thing about using a craft store as a resource is that most of the employees there can point you in the right direction, and if they don’t carry what you’re looking for they might be able to tell you where to find it. Craft stores also have other great resources like craft books, magazines, and craft classes all of which can offer you some great ideas on biblical crafts to use at home, with children, or as part of your Sunday school lesson.
Tip #3: Keep an eye out for boutiques and craft fairs
Some of the best crafting ideas and crafts can be found when you go to boutiques and craft fairs. It never ceases to amaze me how many crafters there are out there and how many different craft ideas you can find when you take some time to attend a craft fair. Along with craft fairs some cities have what are called craft malls. These are basically stores where individuals buy space to display their craft ideas. Most of the time you can go and either buy their craft or just walk around to get some fun ideas. Many of those stores carry biblical and other religious crafts that are great for adults and kids.
Tip #4: Online
If you have access to a computer then you have access to literally thousands of websites with bible craft ideas. Just by typing in a simple search you can find bible crafts for adults, kids, and millions of other ideas to help you with lessons or to just use as fun in your home with the kids.
Tip #5: If all else fails try your local library
With all the options in this article you’re sure to find something you like and will work with a lesson or some fun at home, but just in case you can’t it doesn’t hurt to try your local library. Libraries are notorious for keeping “old” papers and other things around and you might be able to find some real craft treasures there in old magazines and such.
Hopefully these ideas on where to find bible crafts will help get you started on your search for lesson helps, home fun, and making teaching religion a little more fun.
