If you want something more permanent to make and then display, there are many beautiful things that can be done with molding clay or plaster. Simply flatten out a ball of clay to a thickness of about ¼ to ½ inch. Then gather sprint time flowers or leaves and press them gently into the clay. You can create art that looks like the fossil of those leaves and flowers, or you can be more adventurous and create nature creatures by using twigs, leaves, rocks, or anything else you can find to make a sculpture held together with clay. The possibilities are endless and you and your kids will enjoy displaying your creations. You can use this same idea of taking plants, flowers, twigs, and pinecones and use them as stencils on a canvas. After taking impressions of these spring time items you will be left with a collage that you can display in your home.
