Some of the most enthusiastic crafters are those kids who are still pretty young. Pre-school age kids love to do crafts but often possess limited crafting skills making it a little more difficult to find projects that are right for them. Birthday parties, class parties and even just an afternoon of entertainment can all be enhanced for kids this age by doing crafts. But picking the right craft can be tricky. Pick a craft that is too complicated or too long and you will find yourself having to finish everyone’s. In addition since little fingers often need lots of help be sure to have plenty of adult supervision on hand. Finally you will wan to make sure that you have everything you need in place for whatever craft you pick since you do not want to have to leave the party to run to the store for that needed item. Here are some winter craft ideas for preschool age kids-
Icicle Painting-This creative type of “painting” is fun and easy leaving your small crafters with lots of satisfaction over their masterpieces.
What you will need:
- Black construction paper
- White craft glue in squeeze bottles
- Lot of different colors of glitter in shaker bottles
Instructions for the project: Have each child turn their paper landscape style. If they can (or with adult help) draw a thick line of glue across the top of the paper. Have each child pick the paper up and let the glue run down the page. Then the glue can be sprinkled with glitter. Let dry completely.
