This craft is great for a special holiday centerpiece that’s simple and quick to make, get out your cookie cutters and sheets of beeswax. These “tea lites” can be made in any size or color you can imagine.
You will need:
- A few sheets of beeswax
- Cookie cutters
- An ice pick or wick pin
- Primed wick appropriate for small candles(tea lite wicks are perfect)
Instructions for the project:
Start by taking your cookie cutters and press them firmly into the sheet of beeswax. Keep in mind that if it is cold in the room, you may need to warm up the beeswax with a hair dryer. Repeat this process using different colors, if desired, stacking the shapes on top of one another until the stack is at least 3/4″ tall. After you have stacked the shapes take an ice pick, or a wick pin, and make a hole straight down the middle of the stack. Take a small piece of wick and carefully insert it into the hole. Leave about 1/4″ out of the bottom, fold it over, and press it into the bottom to keep it in place. Trim the top wick to about 1/4″. Now you can arrange them and light them!
