Thanksgiving Leaf Rubbing Name Card
This one is an easy craft for both you and your kids. It also looks great to see some fancy name cards laid out for Thanksgiving dinner.
You will need:
•a collection of autumn leaves
•tissue paper
•crayons
•liquid starch
•construction paper
Here’s what you do:
1. First, choose a small autumn leaf for the rubbings. Then take tissue paper squares of 5″ and construction paper squares of 5″ (one square of each for each name card) and with the vein side of the leaf facing up, place tissue paper over the leaf and rub over it with the side of a crayon. Then carefully cut out tissue paper into shape of leaf.
2.Brush the construction paper with liquid starch. Place tissue paper on top, and brush with starch again. Allow to dry, then cut out shape of leaf, either following the line of tissue paper, or leaving a small border.
3.Fold construction paper in half for the name cards, so they stand up, then carefully glue leaf to the name card – you will probably only be able to glue the bottom half of the leaf, while the remainder will be on top of the name card. Allow to dry then write name on name card.
