Draw leaf shapes on to different colored construction paper or you can use a leaf template and trace the shapes. You will want at least one leaf per guest and others for decoration. Lay the paper on a covered work surface and spray both sides with water. Crumple the paper somewhat loosely and flatten back out and let them dry completely. This should take a few hours. After the paper has dried cut out the leaf shapes and let the kids pass them out to each of your guests. Have the guests write one thing that they are grateful for and the year on their leaf. When everyone is done hang the leaves from the twine or string by folding the stems over the string and taping it in place. You can also use a hole punch and thread it through the twine if you prefer. Drape your Garland of Gratitude from your mantel, or at the top of the doorway.
