Many dozens of animals can be created simply by using heart shaped cut-outs of different sizes. To start, cut out a bunch of different sized hearts. Think of an animal that you would like to re-create with hearts. Try putting together the hearts to make them look like that animal. An up-side-down heart looks like a body with legs and a very small heart can look like a nose, a pair of lips, a tail or some ears. Don’t be afraid of overlapping hearts to get the shape that you need. You can also add other decorations like wiggly eyes, cotton ball fur, pipe cleaner whiskers, etc. Give your heart animal creation to someone special on Valentine’s Day or attach it to a child’s Valentine’s Day card box (a box that is taken to school and filled with notes and treats brought by other children). You could even decorate your home with these animals; use them as place cards, place mats, door signs, etc. The possibilities are endless!
