You can make these easy to do candles in any combination of colors.
What you will need:
- Beeswax sheets in coordinating colors (they usually come in about 8″ x 16″ sheets)
- Some primed wick appropriate for a 1″ candle
- A matt knife, sharp knife or razor blade (A small kitchen paring knife can be useful.)
- A suitable cutting surface
Instructions for the project:
Take two beeswax sheets in complementary colors and cut the wax sheets diagonally. You will cut it diagonally from the upper left corner to bottom right corner. The next step is to take one of the colored pieces and cut a 1/2″ strip off of the diagonal cut. Place the wick on the edge of the larger/untrimmed piece and roll about 1/8″ over. As you enclose the wick, make sure that you are pressing firmly along the length of the wick. Then you can place the two pieces together, with the smaller/trimmed piece on the bottom and roll the candle. You will want to make sure to keep the bottom straight and the roll nice and tight. Finish rolling the wax sheets and press the small end corners down against the base firmly to keep them well attached. Trim the wick to about 1/2″ and your candle is ready to light.
