Tweens love to have their rooms be all theirs, and their room can be an outlet of expression. So, help them express theirselves in their room decorating, by letting them make wall signs. The best way to do this is buy plaques, or wood pieces cut and sanded to work well for a wall sign. Before decorating the wood, help the tween adhere a wire across the back for hanging. Then, let them choose a paint color of choice, and paint the board, then give them vinyl letters, phrases, etc. to create wall signs that are perfect for their interests. If you do not have vinyl letters, or don’t know in advance what phrases they will want to use, you can always get stencils and let them paint the words on their wall plaques. They will have fun making the craft, and more fun displaying it in their room.
