A fun way to be crafty near Easter time is to take the craft time outside and enjoy the spring weather. A simple bucket of chalk or some finger paints and smocks provide the base for an art project that a child of any age can do. If using finger paints, take your paper out into the yard so that if there is any mess, it ends up on the lawn instead of on your front porch. Side walk chalk is fun to work with and will easily wash off with the spray of your garden hose. Encourage the children to create activities with their artwork to make the experience more interactive. Hopscotch, marbles, mazes, etc. are all fun options. You can encourage your children to use such things as pine cones and leaves as stencils for their projects. Look around and be creative!
