Materials needed:
•Paint
•Primer
•Paintbrush
•Fabric
•Liquid starch or decoupage
•Scissors
•Marker or chalk
Directions:
•The first thing that you are going to want to do is to choose your fabric.
•Then after choosing your fabric you are going to choose a paint color based on the fabric that you chose.
•Next you need to primer your nursery furniture and let it dry
•Once the primer is dry you can paint your nursery furniture in the paint that you chose.
•While the paint is drying you are going to need to work on your alphabet letters
•First thing you are going to need to do for your letters is to use your chalk or marker to draw nice big puffy or fat letters on your fabric. You can also print out a pattern to use or try drawing the letters on paper and using the cut outs as your guide or you can use a stencil to trace the letters
•Now you want to cut out your letters one at a time taking the time to be sure that you avoid any lines made by your marker
•Next make sure that the paint has dried on the furniture and once it is dry you can start applying your letters to the furniture
•If you want permanent letters you can apply the letters using decoupage or you can use liquid starch if you are only looking for something temporary.
•If you are going to be using liquid starch then you are going to need to dip the letters into the liquid starch and then press them onto the dresser drawers
•A good thing to do is to take the dresser drawers out and stand them up or lay the dresser flat if the drawers don’t come out so that the letters can lay flat while they dry
•Continue dipping and laying out the letters until you are done applying all of your letters
•Now allow the liquid starch to dry
•If you choose to use decoupage then you are going to need to paint some decoupage on the back of the fabric letter and then press it into place on the dresser drawer front. Once the letter is in place you will need to paint some more decoupage on so that the fabric letter is saturated.
•Allow the decoupage to dry
Regardless of which method you use once the materials are dry you can put the drawers back in the dresser and place the dresser in your nursery.
