Polymer Clay Birdbath
Here is a cute polymer clay craft you can place on your outdoor table.
What you will need:
8 ½ inch metal footed bowl
Polymer Clay, a variety of colors
Flat off white spray paint
Translucent polymer clay
White tacky glue
Dark brown acrylic paint
Small paint brushes
Decorations of your choice (such as flowers)
Instructions for the project:
Now its time to get started begin by spraying the metal bowl with a coat of the off white spray paint and let it dry completely. Condition your polymer clay (preferably a colored one such as pearl) and cover the rim of the bowl, use some translucent polymer clay underneath to help it stick.
You can make flowers out of the polymer clay or you can attach pre-made flowers to the rim, again use translucent polymer clay to help it adhere to the rim. Use paint to brush colors onto the flowers, or the rim of the birdbath. The dark brown paint can be painted onto translucent clay to resemble twigs.
Bake in the oven at 275 degrees for 25 minutes. Allow it to cool completely. Mix brown paint with a little water and brush this on the entire bird bath to give it an antique coating. Finish your birdbath with a UV protection coating and once it has completely dried you can use tacky glue to attach other decorations to the birdbath such as a birds nest.
