CDs are a major part of many people lives, especially teens. Teens as well as everyone need a place to put all the CDs they have. There are some great CD holder crafts that can be easily done and provide a great place to hold the cds. When teens can have a cool place to put their CDs, they are more likely to have the CDs in the holder and not on the floor.
Depending on the expertise of the one making the CD holder craft will determine which one may be best for the teen. There are some that can be sewn, made out of wood, or more simpler CD holders that are made with boxes or simply a CD holder that is bought then decorated.
Lets start simple. There are CD holders that can be bought at craft stores and decorated with paints, stickers, especially foam stickers, or all kinds of craft items. These CD holders are for the CDs alone, no CD case. But for most people that is a good thing. The cases come in a variety of colors but mostly a smaller size. They will hold from five to fifteen CDs.
The type of decoration that can be put on these CD holder crafts is nearly limitless. They are a great material for stickers to stick to, and the fun foam stickers will give the CD holder a 3-D look. There are also craft paints that can be used. These paints come in nearly any color imaginable. There are even sparkly, and shiny paints that can be used to write names with. If you want to glue something onto the CD holder, use a glue gun or some glue dots.
One of the next easiest is a CD holder craft that uses a box. You’ll need to get a smaller sized box like a 6×6. You can have it longer for more CDs to fit, but don’t get it too high or the proportion to the CDs will look off. You will also need some colored foam. This can be bought at craft stores. Get colors that are to the CD owners liking and that will go with the bedroom theme. It will look best if there are two different colors of foam. Get one color for the inside and one color for the outside.
First cut off the lid to the box. Then glue the foam to the inside of the box and then the other color to the outside. After the foam is in place, get some kind of embellishment like a feather boa or some braided rope and glue it to the outside edge where the lid used to be. To add some flare glue an old CD on the outside of the box and then add some foam notes on top of the CD. This is a great CD holder craft that doesn’t take much time and can add a great decorating piece to the room.
One great CD holder craft that will take a little more time and experience is a wooden holder. It doesn’t take much, just four pieces of MDF wood that are five and a half inches square, some paint and any additional accessories that you may want. The wood can be purchased and cut at most hardware stores, as can the paint. Choose paint colors that match the room and add the accessories that will compliment the room decor.
The wood can be cut at the hardware or home improvement store but you may need someone to help you to cut a forty five degree angle on one of the ends of two of the pieces of wood and a forty five degree angle on two opposite ends of the other two pieces. Use some wood glue and glue the forty five degree ends together to form a large W. Make sure the glue is set firmly and then you can paint the CD holder. If the CD holder needs more stability, get some fun wood cut outs that will match and glue them to the outer edges of the outside pieces of the W. You’ll be able to stack a lot of CDs in this crafty CD holder.
Making great CD holder crafts can bring some fun into a bedroom. They give a place to organize the CDs as well as add some decor to the room. There are easy CD holder crafts as well as some that are more advanced. Enjoy making the CD holder craft and make it to you personal tastes.
