Scrapbooking has become one of the most fun ways to spend your leisure time and has also become one of the most popular ways to spend time. Building scrapbooks is an easy way to keep a journal of your life, your children’s lives, or anyone you take pictures of. Multiple Photo Layouts. Using multiple photos on a scrapbook page is one of many techniques that can give your page what you want it to be. If you’ve just come back from a trip or have several photos that you want to display this is a great technique to use for your scrapbook. Sometimes the photos really tell the story and you won’t need a lot of journaling on your page. You can create a collage photos which creates a messy but fun look, or you can place them in specific places by lining them up in rows to create a more organized and simple look. Sort through the photos you want (probably no more than nine photos to a page) and get started.
Mini Books. Another great technique used by many scrap bookers today are maniocs. Since most scrap bookers love taking pictures and sometimes have hard time deciding which ones to actually use, they can use mini books on their layout page in order to get them all in. Maniocs can have up to 12 pictures or more (depending on how thick you want them) and can make your scrapbook page rich with memory.
Embellishments. There are so many different kinds of embellishments that will add to every scrap bookers basic needs and page layouts. It’s difficult to know where to begin as there are just so many out there. If you like using ribbon, then try adding some ribbon to your page using glue dots, or double sided stickems. Ribbon comes in all different colors and sizes so really you can use as much or as little as you want. Use ribbon with a lot of lace or try some with some modern designs on them to make your page look a little cuter. If you’re not quite into the whole ribbon thing, then try your hand at using something like eyelets or brads to give your page that extra pop. The great thing about eyelets or brads is that you can easily add them to any page and they come in all sorts of different shapes and sizes. You can put them on pictures or on the borders of paper; use them as much or as little as you want. These are only two examples of ways you can use embellishments with some basic scrapbooking.
Stamping. Since scrapbooking has become such a popular past time there have been a few companies that have come out with stamping lines that can really add some flavor to your basic scrapbook page. Although stamping itself is a basic technique there are several other stamping techniques that you can use on a scrapbook page to give it your own unique look. Stamping techniques range from embossing, sponging, and faux’s to creating your very own backgrounds. Possibilities are almost endless when it comes to stamping. The best way to find what you like is to look at some samples and then try them out.
There are thousands basic scrapbooking techniques a beginner scrap booker or experienced scrap booker can use. These are only a few of the simpler techniques that don’t take a lot of time but can help give your page your own unique look.
